Dear Member,
We are planning a ride following the Ridgeway Trail from it's start at Overton Hill Wiltshire to Aylesbury approx 90 miles.. The ride will be in June and I'm planning for Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th to allow for maximum daylight as we plan to complete the ride in 1 day. The route will use the Ridgeway although there are parts which are footpath's so we will use the Swans way and Icknield way bridleways to avoid these and stay off road.
This will be a tough and challenging ride for anyone wishing to participate and you will need to have a good level of fitness and stamina. You will also need to be able ride at an average pace of 8-10 mph off road for 10 - 11 hours. You will need a mountain bike or cyclocross bike as the route is off road.
I need to know who would like to join this ride so I can look into the costs of transporting us all down to the start with bikes using possibly a mini bus with driver and box trailer. Please let me know by the 18th February if you intend to join us.
If you have any questions please ask.

The club managed to field two teams at this years Antelope 3-up time trialling season opener. Bruce Caldwell, Adam Quilter & rapidly improving new member, Steve Morrell, put in an exceptional time of 1hr 15m 56s to come 30th out of 80 teams. Racing together for the very first time, Nick Constable, Dan Tamplin & Tim Clark achieved 47th place in 1hr 22m 17s. Nick's still a 'Junior' classification rider with Dan only discovering cycle racing outside of a regular working commute in the last 12 months & Tim previously being a steady big mileage-eater. They formed a very competitive combo. Well done boys, keep it up.
