The Aylesbury Cycle Club has been in existence for over 50 years and continues to be the only cycling club in the Aylesbury Vale catering for regular road & offroad club rides, starter groups, training sessions, racing, touring etc.
Our regular group rides leave at 9.00a.m. every Saturday & Sunday from the AquaVale car park, Park Street, Aylesbury.
We also have a couple of midweek sessions, so please see below for details.
The Saturday rides are very popular with often sufficient participants to warrant three separate groups -
Fast, Medium and Slower.
The Fast Group is for fit and experienced riders who are generally competitive in nature and keen to 'press on'.
Generally 55-65 miles.
The Medium Group is intended to provide an opportunity for a group ride at a reasonably brisk pace which can stretch you a little on occasion,
but not beyond your limits.
Generally 50 - 60 miles.
The Slower Group will be at a steadier pace to accommodate the needs of those who just want a sociable ride in good company.
Approx 40 - 50 miles.
We welcome cyclists riding with us for the first time. However, from past experience we would recommend that everyone,
other than those coming to us as a recent active member of a road cycling club, should initially ride with the slower group.
To ensure you have a good experience you do need to be capable of riding 35 miles plus in less than two and a half hours.
To ensure that you are met and welcomed for the first time would you please email email@example.com
Sometimes when numbers or situation dictates the Medium and Slower Groups may merge.
The Sunday Club Ride also meets at The AquaVale at 9.00am. There is just one ride of around 50 - 60 miles at a medium pace.
Our Mountain bikers meet at Jansel Square car park in Bedgrove, at 7:15pm and leave for some of the best off road trails in the Chiltern area at 7:30pm. Being off road at night is a thrilling experience. You will need your bike to be in good working order, lights front and back are essential as is a helmet, and spares including inner tubes or repair kit in case of punctures.
An organised ride will take approx. 21/2 to 3 hours. The first Wednesday of the month is our trial night for non-members to meet our mountain bikers and explore the trails. We have regular weekend away trips and long distance path rides planned throughout the year.
Joining the MTB section is a great way to met like minded riders who often meet at weekends for more rides.
