The club has been in existence for over 50 years & continues
to be the only cycling club in the Aylesbury Vale catering for regular weekend club rides, training sessions, racing,
touring etc. Our group rides leave at 9.00 a.m. every
Saturday & Sunday from the AquaVale car park, Park Street, Aylesbury. We also have a couple of
midweek sessions, so please see below for details.

| The 'slowest-cyclist' group enjoying the sun at Ashridge Park |
New to road cycling or returning after a break? We introduced our Saturday 'slowest-cyclist' group rides in November 2008 for anyone to
join in. This has proved a great success & newcomers have told us how much they enjoy them. Here's a couple of examples: "Just
wanted to say how much I enjoyed the ride on Saturday....Nice social bunch and lots of support when I struggled on a couple
of hills...I'll definitely be back for more!"
Just
wanted to say thanks for the fantastic ride today in excellent company. It was just the incentive I needed to lose another
stone! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope to see you all again soon. It's normally a route of about 35-40 miles
starting at 9.00 a.m. from AquaVale (bike park), Park Street, Aylesbury every Saturday & we can email
you the anticipated route a couple of days beforehand.
Already
feeling capable of riding with a cycling 'club' group? As you
can see above, we leave at 9.00 a.m. from the Aqua Vale car park, so please feel free to join in. Please note. Both the Saturday & Sunday 'club' group rides
welcome cyclists riding with us for the first time. However, from past experience we'd recommend that everyone, other than
those coming to us as a recent active member of another road cycling club, should initially ride with the 'slowest-cyclist'
group. Members sometimes have "other commitments" & choose to return
earlier, so you may not have to come back alone if you wish to do a shorter ride. "Mainstay Margaret" is always there come rain or shine, so please feel
free to come along & introduce yourself.
NEW MTB section? This group started during the winter months following nearby offroad trails with
an added dose of excitement-riding in the dark with lights! Meeting in Jansel Square car park in Bedgrove,
where there's free parking if anyone requires it, the group leaves at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday for a ride
of approximately 2-21/2 hours. With evergrowing abilities in this group & extended daylight hours we're
also giving new riders the chance to join in a 'slowest-cyclist' style group ride once a month, as a way of introduction.
All you need is an offroad bike in good working order and a decent front light. Lights on your helmet
are very useful but not essential & don't forget a rear light as there'll be some riding on the road to &
from the local offroad trails. Please see our 'Contact us' page to get further details.
Alternatively, you may wish to become a member & join in on our Thursday evening winter
indoor turbo or summer road interval 'pain & suffering' sessions! Thursday evenings from mid-September to mid-April, we have turbo training sessions at a local school hall. These
conclude with stretching exercises under the supervision of a physiotherapist. If you feel this is another good reason
to join the club, please complete & forward the downloadable membership application form on the 'Contact
us' page of this website or contact the Club Secretary. During summer months we meet at Stone pond, 7.00
p.m. prompt, to endure intervals up a nearby hill or on a fast mile & a half section of quiet, flattish, good
quality road. Please see our 'Contact us' page to get further details.
